Responsibilities - Review and analyze patient charts and documents to assign accurate medical codes.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and standards while capturing required information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify ambiguous documentation and coding queries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Conduct periodic audits and quality checks to ensure coding accuracy and integrity.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Experience Level: 3–5 years of experience in medical coding
- Skills and Competencies: CPC Certification and CIC certification preferred
- Skills and Competencies: Experience as a Surgical Coder
- Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in CPT/HCPCS coding systems
- Qualities and Traits: Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
