Key Responsibilities
- Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems to inpatient medical records with accuracy and efficiency
- Analyze clinical documentation to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes
- Work closely with physicians and healthcare staff to clarify records and resolve coding inconsistencies
- Maintain thorough documentation and uphold industry coding standards and regulations
- Track and report coding productivity and quality performance metrics
- Stay current with coding updates through ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in any allied health or medical-related field
- Active certification in Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in inpatient or o utpatient medical coding
- Solid understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding frameworks
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
