Operation Manager

Key responsibilities
Oversee and manage all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatching of goods
Monitor and optimise inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock management and minimising discrepancies
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, efficiency and compliance with safety regulations
Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, performance management and development
Manage warehouse equipment and machinery maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and safety
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery and cost efficiency
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and conduct regular safety audits and training
Liaise with clients, logistics partners and internal departments to resolve operational issues and optimise service delivery
Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
Prepare reports on operational performance and present findings to senior management
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years' experience in warehouse or distribution centre operations management
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale warehouse operations and teams
Strong knowledge of warehousing systems, inventory management software and warehouse management systems (WMS)
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Sound understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant software applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
Knowledge of logistics, supply chain management and distribution best practices
Relevant qualifications or certifications in operations management, warehouse operations or related fields are advantageous
Familiarity with safety management systems and certifications (such as ISO standards) is preferred
