Job Summary
The Maintenance Assistant provides support in the repair, preventive maintenance, inspection, and proper operation of building
facilities, equipment, and utilities. The position helps ensure that all equipment and facilities are safe, clean, functional, and properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and other
facility systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Assist technicians and maintenance personnel during repair and installation activities.
• Monitor equipment conditions and report defects, unusual noises, leaks, damages, or safety hazards.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor repairs when qualified to do so.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the maintenance/workshop area.
• Check and maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Record completed repairs, inspections, equipment readings, and maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from different departments.
• Assist in maintaining restaurant, kitchen, production commissary, refrigeration, and facility equipment.
• Follow proper safety procedures when handling tools, electrical equipment, chemicals, and machinery.
• Coordinate with contractors or service providers when required.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Competencies / Qualities
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and refrigeration systems
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
• Capable of performing maintenance tasks
• Responsible, reliable, and hardworking
• Good attention to detail
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, or holidays when required
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance procedures
Minimum Qualifications
• High school graduate; technical/vocational training is an advantage.
• Experience in maintenance, facilities, construction, or equipment repair is preferred.
• TESDA or other technical certification is an advantage.
• Willing to learn and follow company procedures and safety standards.
