Job Description: About The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented, highly analytical Finance Intern to join our team. In this role, you won't just file paperwork-you will gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in financial analysis, core accounting operations, accounts payable, and tax support. You will work closely with senior accountants and finance manager, directly contributing to day-to-day corporate financial operations and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP) Processing:
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with high accuracy.
- Match purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices (3-way matching) to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with the bi-monthly payment run prep and vendor reconciliation regarding payment statuses.
- Assist in preparing supporting schedules and documentation for quarterly/annual tax filings.
- Help collect and verify tax forms from new vendors to maintain tax compliance.
- Perform routine tax research on local and BIR regulations as needed.
- Assist in analyzing financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and building basic financial models.
- Track actual performance against budget/forecasts and highlight key drivers and discrepancies (Variance Analysis).
- Clean, structure, and analyze financial datasets to support monthly close and KPI reporting.
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and tax documentation using modern automation tools.
- Solid foundation in core accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals, GL structure) and basic tax concepts.
- Knowledge or Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic financial functions).
- Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is a strong plus.
- High attention to detail (crucial for invoice matching and tax documentation).
- Strong numerical reasoning and organizational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data.
