About the role
Oleo-Fats, Inc. is looking for a Packaging Development Supervisor to oversee all packaging-related activities, including research and development, trials, compliance, and operational applications.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise packaging development activities, from material research to testing and approval
- Recommend appropriate packaging materials for each product
- Conduct research on food safety and compliance with food and regulatory requirements
- Keep up with the latest trends in packaging technology and sustainability
- Ensure packaging material specifications are updated based on the latest client requirements and regulatory compliance
- Establish testing methods for validation and checking, and review sample evaluation data against supplier specifications
- Coordinate with stakeholders to implement specification changes
- Track new material sourcing projects and coordinate with Sales and Marketing, Product Development, and Purchasing
- Source new supplier leads by attending local and international trade shows, supplier meets, and conferences
- Identify and recommend packaging and process improvements to enhance product quality and line efficiency
About you
- Graduate of an engineering course such as Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (Packaging Engineering is an advantage)
- At least 5 years of work experience in packaging development
- Good knowledge of packaging standards such as ISO and ASTM
- Good knowledge of drafting specification standards
- Proficiency in CAD and other packaging design software is an advantage
