Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Repairs and Maintenance Manager with a strong background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to oversee all technical operations and equipment maintenance for our restaurant stores.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring 100% operational uptime for our commercial kitchen and facility assets with a heavy focus on hot and cold machines (e.g., commercial ovens, fryers, grills, walk-in freezers, refrigeration units, ice machines, and HVAC systems). You will lead emergency troubleshooting, implement preventive maintenance schedules, and manage vendor relationships to keep our stores running safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Equipment and Facility Maintenance

• Perform diagnostic checks, preventive maintenance (PM), and rapid repairs on critical hot equipment (ovens, fryers, griddles) and cold equipment (walk-in chillers, freezers, ice makers, display cases).
• Oversee general MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems across all store locations, ensuring electrical safety, proper ventilation, and utility efficiency.
• Develop, implement, and track a rigorous PM schedule for all restaurant equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespans.

2. Operations & Emergency Response

• Act as the primary point of contact for urgent breakdown requests during peak operating hours; troubleshoot remotely or dispatch immediate repair support.
• Supervise third-party technicians, evaluate warranty claims, negotiate service agreements, and audit vendor work quality and costs.
• Ensure all restaurant machinery and electrical systems comply with local safety standards, sanitation regulations, and occupational health guidelines.

3. Inventory, Budget & Reporting

• Maintain a critical inventory of fast-moving spare parts and components for both hot and cold machines to minimize equipment idle time.
• Monitor repair expenses, analyze equipment life-cycle costs, and recommend repair-versus-replace strategies to optimize operations within budget.
• Maintain detailed digital logs of store work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance costs.

Job Specifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other closely related fields. Professional License/Certification is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in facility/equipment maintenance, preferably in F/B, restaurant, or retail industry.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial kitchen hot and cold equipment (HVAC-R systems, deep fryers, combination ovens, ice machines, walk-in coolers).
• Amenable to work full-time within Metro Manila (Espana Manila, Tondo Manila, Bagong Barrio Caloocan).
