Asset Management Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Evaluation and Valuation:  

• Coordinate with appraisers or asset evaluators to assess the fair market value of assets designated for disposal. 
• Ensure that all assets are accurately valued based on current market conditions and internal policies. 
• Maintain detailed records of asset evaluations and ensure transparency in the valuation process. 

Disposal Strategy Development:  

• Develop and execute strategies for asset disposal, including the preparation of auction plans, sales strategies, and direct negotiations. 
• Identify the most appropriate channels for asset disposal to maximize recovery value (e.g., auctions, private sales, or liquidation). 
• Monitor the market to adjust disposal strategies based on demand and market trends. 

Legal and Regulatory Compliance:  

• Ensure that all asset disposal actions comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. 
• Collaborate with legal advisors and external counsel to ensure all necessary documentation and filings are completed for asset sales or disposals. 
• Ensure that the disposal process is legally defensible and properly documented, including contracts, agreements, and receipts. 

Vendor and Third-Party Management:  

• Manage relationships with third-party vendors involved in the disposal process, including auction houses, appraisers, and liquidation firms. 
• Negotiate terms and fees with vendors to ensure cost-effective disposal solutions. 
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure timely and efficient asset disposal. 

Risk Management and Asset Protection:  

• Monitor and safeguard assets during the disposal process, ensuring that assets are protected from damage or loss. 
• Identify and mitigate risks related to the disposal process, including market fluctuations, legal challenges, or environmental concerns. 
• Ensure the safe storage and handling of assets until they are disposed of. 

Reporting and Documentation:  

• Prepare regular reports on asset disposal activities, including details on the disposal process, market conditions, and financial returns. 
• Maintain accurate records of all asset disposals, including valuation reports, sales agreements, and proceeds from sales or auctions. 
• Provide updates and progress reports to senior management regarding disposal outcomes. 

Financial Management:  

• Ensure the proper allocation and recording of proceeds from asset disposals into the company’s financial system. 
• Monitor the financial impact of asset disposals on company performance and profitability. 
• Ensure that any applicable taxes or fees related to asset disposal are properly accounted for and paid. 

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:  

• Work closely with other departments, including finance, legal, collections, and asset recovery teams, to ensure the smooth and compliant disposal of assets. 
• Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including buyers, auction houses, and legal representatives, during the disposal process. 
• Provide input and suggestions for improving asset disposal strategies and procedures to maximize returns. 

Additional Responsibilities:  

• Other duties as assigned  to ensure the smooth execution of the asset disposal process, including assisting with ad hoc tasks or supporting other departments in related activities as needed. 

Key Requirements:

• Educational Requirement:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field. Additional certifications in asset management, disposal, or related fields are a plus. 
• Experience:  At least 3 years of experience in asset disposal, asset management, or related fields. 

Skills:  

• Strong understanding of asset disposal processes, market conditions, and legal requirements. 
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex disposal processes. 
• Ability to assess asset value and market conditions to maximize disposal outcomes. 
• Strong organizational and documentation skills to maintain accurate records of asset disposals. 
• Familiarity with asset management software and financial reporting tools. 

Technical Skills:  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
• Experience with asset tracking and disposal management software. 
• Knowledge of financial reporting and legal documentation requirements related to asset disposal.

• High attention to detail with an ability to manage large volumes of assets and transactions. 
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure. 
• Proven ability to work with external vendors and legal advisors effectively.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position, primarily in an office environment, with occasional site visits for asset inspections or disposal activities. 
• Occasional travel may be required for off-site asset disposal or vendor coordination.
