Finance and Operations Specialist - Remote

Core-VA Solutions is a Texas-based healthcare staffing company with 20+ years of experience supporting U.S. healthcare organizations with skilled remote professionals.

We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Specialist who can confidently work across finance, HR, operations, projects, and executive-level support .

This is more than a bookkeeping role. You’ll help keep our financials accurate, support people and HR processes, coordinate projects and stakeholders, and improve the systems and workflows that keep the business moving.

What You’ll Do

Finance & Accounting

• Manage QuickBooks Online records across multiple entities, including AP/AR, invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, aging, variance, and other financial reports
• Support budgets, forecasts, cash flow planning, and budget-to-actual analysis
• Monitor financial deadlines, vendors, contracts, documentation, and key financial/operational KPIs
• Provide leadership with accurate, timely, and practical financial information

HR & People Operations

• Support recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, benefits, employee records, and HR administration as needed
• Maintain confidential HR files, compliance documentation, certifications, training records, and HR systems
• Support employee concerns, engagement initiatives, retention, and HR projects
• Assist leadership with HR reporting, policy updates, and process improvements as needed

Operations, Projects & Process Improvement

• Coordinate projects, deadlines, calendars, action items, and stakeholder follow-ups to keep work moving
• Identify inefficient or repetitive processes and develop better workflows, SOPs, templates, dashboards, and automations
• Help streamline finance, HR, and operational processes using tools such as Microsoft 365, Excel, Power Automate, Asana, QuickBooks, SharePoint, and Teams
• Take ownership of assigned projects and follow through from planning to completion

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, HR, operations, or a combination of these areas
• Strong QuickBooks Online and Excel skills, including financial reporting and analysis
• Experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Working knowledge of recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, benefits, and employee administration
• Strong project coordination, stakeholder follow-up, organization, and time management skills
• Able to identify process gaps and create practical SOPs, workflows, and improvements
• Comfortable learning and using technology, systems, and automation tools
• Proactive, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work independently
• Trusted to handle confidential financial, employee, and client information

Nice to have: Experience with Power Automate, Zapier, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Asana, Wise, or healthcare, staffing, nonprofit, or long-term care environments.

Your First 90 Days

* First 30 Days: Learn our finance, HR, systems, recurring workflows, and operational priorities.

* By Day 60: Take ownership of recurring responsibilities and begin implementing process improvements or automation opportunities.

* By Day 90: Independently manage core finance and HR workflows while maintaining reliable reporting, documentation, and operational follow-through.
