KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Financial Operations & Bookkeeping
● AP/AR Management: Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring
all vendor payments and client receipts are processed accurately.
● Reconciliations: Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple international
currencies.
● Payroll: Process monthly payroll for local and potentially international staff, ensuring compliance
with local labor laws and tax requirements.
● Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT requirements and other statutory
financial obligations.
● Petty Cash: Maintain and reconcile petty cash funds for the regional office.
Reporting & Administration
● Financial Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly financial reports for management, focusing on
cash flow, aging summaries, and budget variances.
● Invoicing: Issue accurate and timely invoices to clients in accordance with boat build milestones
and contract terms.
● Data Integrity: Ensure all financial data entry in Xero is precise and up to date.
● General Admin: Handle incoming/outgoing mail, maintain a rigorous filing system (digital and
physical), and assist the Director with ad-hoc tasks.
Customer Service & Support
● Inquiry Handling: Provide a professional and friendly phone manner when dealing with client or
supplier account queries.
● Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales and Project Management teams to ensure
financial milestones are aligned with production schedules.
Skills & Experience
● Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role. Extensive
experience in all aspects of bookkeeping is a baseline requirement.
● Software: Advanced capabilities in Xero and Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables).
● Numeracy: Strong mathematical skills with an obsessive attention to detail—errors are not an
option in our high-value manufacturing environment.
● Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with total discretion. A
strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is a mandatory condition of employment.
