Customs Compliance Staff member ensures import/export activities adhere to international trade regulations and local laws, preventing shipment delays and legal penalties. Key duties include managing customs documentation (PIB/PEB), validating HS classifications, conducting internal audits, coordinating with customs brokers, and staying updated on trade compliance laws. HS Classification & Valuation: Correctly classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and apply proper valuation methods. Risk Management & Audits: Perform internal audits, review filing accuracy, and identify potential compliance gaps to minimize liability. Liaison & Communication: Act as the primary contact between the company, customs brokers, and government officials for audits or inspections. Tax/Duty Optimization: Ensure timely payment of customs duties and taxes and apply for free trade agreement qualifications or special programs
