Position Purpose
The Senior Sales Executive is responsible for driving new business growth within the international freight forwarding sector. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, developing a strong sales pipeline, and converting opportunities into revenue. The position requires strong industry expertise, ownership of sales performance, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.
Operational Context
- Work schedule: 8:30am – 5:30pm aligned to Sydney, Australia time
- New South Wales (Australia) public holidays apply
- Work is performed in Cargo Wise and CRM systems within structured SOP-driven workflows
- Strong focus on accountability, pipeline ownership, and proactive sales activity
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within international freight forwarding
- Build and manage a structured sales pipeline
- Generate leads through outbound activity, digital channels, and industry networks
- Respond to new inquiries and convert opportunities into active customers
- Prepare and present freight solutions and quotations
- Maintain accurate CRM records including pipeline, communications, and opportunities
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Work closely with internal teams to support service delivery and customer onboarding
Must-Have Requirements
- Proven experience in international freight forwarding sales
- Strong understanding of import/export shipping processes and pricing structures
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads and convert new business
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system
- Strong commercial mindset with negotiation capability
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills
- Highly self-driven with strong accountability and ownership
Experience and Skills
- 10+ years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a structured, performance-driven environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
