We're looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead the growth of Our Client's SME business across an assigned region.
You'll drive regional sales growth through merchant acquisition, activation, retention, and sustainable profitability while leading and developing Area Sales Leads and field sales teams. This role combines sales strategy, people leadership, and local market expertise to deliver strong results across multiple territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the region toward its Gross Profit, merchant acquisition, activation, and transaction growth targets by translating business objectives into clear territory and team plans.
- Manage and coach Area Sales Leads, strengthening their ability to lead their own teams, manage performance, and consistently deliver against targets.
- Identify opportunities across the sales funnel from lead generation and qualification through onboarding and first transaction and work with partner teams to remove barriers to activation.
- Use your understanding of regional markets, merchant segments, competitive activity, and business communities to identify high-potential territories and growth opportunities.
- Drive pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy, and visibility across territories so that opportunities, risks, and required interventions are identified early.
- Monitor merchant activity, transaction volume, retention, and profitability to ensure that the region is acquiring merchants who become active, valuable, and sustainable customers.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in SME , field, or territory-based sales leadership, with responsibility for multiple territories or markets.
- Demonstrated experience leading and coaching sales managers or team leaders, rather than managing only individual contributors.
- Strong capability in sales performance management, including target setting, pipeline management, forecasting, and performance reviews.
- The ability to use sales and performance data to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and make sound commercial decisions.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a bias toward execution.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- A strong understanding of regional market and channel dynamics.
- Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or merchant acquiring is an advantage, but not a strict requirement.
