Job Summary
The Research & Development Assistant Manager supports the planning, development, and commercialization of new food products for restaurant operations. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure new products are operationally feasible, standardized, and successfully implemented across commissary and store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing new product development and commercialization projects.
- Coordinate product trials, pilot runs, and operational validations.
- Develop standardized recipes, production procedures, and technical documentation.
- Prepare SOPs, BOMs, product specifications, and costing information.
- Coordinate with QA, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Training teams during commercialization.
- Conduct product evaluations and recommend process improvements.
- Support supplier evaluations and raw material testing.
- Monitor implementation performance and resolve operational issues during rollout.
- Supervise assigned R&D staff and project activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, Culinary Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Restaurant R&D, Product Development, Technical Services, or Food Manufacturing.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience .
- Experience in recipe standardization and product commercialization.
- Strong project coordination and communication skills.
- Knowledge of SAP/ERP is an advantage.
