R&D Supervisor

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Responsible on conducting research and actual development of new products.
- Coordinates with Sales and Marketing and Sales the specifications of requested product to be developed.
- Coordinates with Production group to discuss the manpower requirement, equipment availability and process procedures for production of new product.
- Coordinates with Purchasing group to request availability and specification of new materials and ingredients to be needed for the production of new products.
- Coordinates with Cost Accounting group to discuss and provide data needed for product costing.
- Provides PPIC group data needed to planning and preparation of raw materials and ingredients requirement of new products for production. Discuss technical details of specifications to supplier, if necessary.
- Coordinates with Quality Assurance Dept. to discuss in-process control points, material and ingredients specification and finished product specification.
2.Responsible in conducting development work on existing products that may require improvement in terms of quality and profit generation.
3.Liaises R&D Officer of Food Service clients and provides documents when needed. 4.Conduct in-house and external sensory evaluation activity of new products and existing products that have undergone modification in order to determine acceptability.
5.Prepares official product formulation arid process procedure of new products.
6.Prepares finished product specifications and technical product description of new products and existing products to be given to customers if requested.
7.Prepares ingredients list of new products and existing products for label purposes.
8.Conducts trouble shooting activities in case problems arise in the products.
9.Monitors production of existing products which in some cases varies quality and consistently get lower yield than set standard yield.
10.Conducts batch trial run of approved raw materials from initial and lab scale testing.
11.Provides scientific and technical inputs on matters concerning food products.
12.Secure all needed requirements and conducts CPR application of bottled and frozen processed meat products to FDA E-portal.
13.Coordinates with third party testing of samples for analysis.
14.Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Attainment: Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemical Engineering and/or other related course:
Work Experience: 3-5 years experience in related position:
Training/Skills Required : Technically skilled with strong culinary inclination.
With good understanding and adherence on government requirements.
Knowledgeable on industry’s GMP/HACCP/HALAL and FSSC standards and requirements.
