About the role
This role involves implementing and monitoring construction safety and health programs on site, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Key responsibilities
Implement and monitor the approved Construction Safety and Health Program
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with site safety rules
Conduct toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and safety awareness activities
Monitor high-risk activities and ensure appropriate permits and safety controls are in place
Prepare and maintain safety inspection reports, risk assessments, incident reports, and other required documents
Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective measures
Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineers, Supervisors, and subcontractors regarding safety concerns
Monitor compliance with applicable DOLE regulations and client safety requirements
Stop or escalate unsafe work in accordance with established site procedures and delegated authority
About you
At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction site safety is preferred
Knowledgeable in DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards, Republic Act No. 11058, and applicable construction safety regulations
Experienced in conducting safety inspections, hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of corrective actions
Knowledgeable in preparing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Risk Assessment, Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work documentation
Familiar with construction safety requirements for working at heights, scaffolding, excavation, lifting operations, electrical works, hot works, and confined spaces
Capable of conducting toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and regular safety reminders for workers
Knowledgeable in accident and incident investigation, reporting, and corrective action implementation
Able to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and maintain safety documentation
Good communication, leadership, observation, and problem-solving skills
First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) training or certification is an advantage
