Job Summary
Responsible for the preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair of the resort’s or hotel’s facilities, equipment, and building systems to ensure safe, reliable operations and a comfortable environment for guests and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, offices, service areas, and other facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical fixtures, plumbing systems, air-conditioning units, and other equipment within assigned competency and authorization.
- Address maintenance concerns such as leaking pipes, clogged drains, defective lighting, damaged fixtures, and minor building repairs.
- Carry out basic carpentry, painting, masonry, and other general maintenance work.
- Assist in inspecting and maintaining water pumps, tanks, pool equipment, generators, and other utility systems, as applicable.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies while minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments regarding repairs, room availability, and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and materials used.
- Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts, and report items requiring replenishment or replacement.
- Assist authorized contractors and specialized technicians during servicing, installation, and major repairs.
- Follow safety procedures, use appropriate protective equipment, and report hazards or equipment defects immediately.
- Keep maintenance work areas clean and secure, and safeguard tools, equipment, and hotel property.
- Perform other maintenance duties reasonably related to the position.
Qualifications
- High school graduate with relevant technical or vocational training; a diploma in electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance is an advantage.
- At least two (2) years of relevant facility or building maintenance experience , preferably in a hotel, resort, or similar establishment.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, air-conditioning maintenance, and general building repairs.
- Relevant TESDA certification , such as Electrical Installation and Maintenance or Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Servicing, is an advantage.
- Able to read basic technical instructions, equipment manuals, and maintenance checklists.
- Able to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot problems, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Courteous, dependable, and mindful of guest privacy and comfort.
- Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergencies as required.
Working Conditions
The position involves indoor and outdoor maintenance work, the use of tools and equipment, climbing ladders, and handling materials using appropriate safety practices.
