Lending Portfolio Analyst

Reporting directly to the Head of Lending Portfolio, this role is responsible for mining data and generating the actionable insights required to shape the lending growth strategy. You will move beyond simple reporting to uncover why conversion trends are happening, identify profitability opportunities to optimize the lending funnel, and translate complex data into clear recommendations that will improve customer retention, and maximize portfolio yield.

Strategic Growth & Portfolio Analysis  

• Analyze end to end lending portfolio performance across acquisition, utilization, repayment, and retention stages. 
• Analyze portfolio trends to identify untapped growth levers and underperforming segments. 
• Develop data driven recommendations on pricing, product features, and credit limit strategies to increase market penetration. 
• Model the potential impact of proposed strategies to forecast revenue growth and ROI before implementation. 
• Partner closely with the Head of Lending Portfolio to support growth initiatives, strategic planning, and portfolio reviews. 

Funnel Optimization & Conversion Strategy  

• Collaborate with the Head of Portfolio to design A B tests and experiments (e.g changing offers, UI tweaks) aimed at fixing conversion leaks. 
• Track and assess post implementation metrics to validate if strategic interventions are delivering the expected lift in conversion. 
• Produce clear experiment readouts and recommendations to guide scaling or iteration of implemented initiatives.

Customer Segmentation & Lifecycle Insights  

• Develop advanced customer segmentation models to support targeted lifecycle campaigns (onboarding, reactivation, cross sell). 
• Partner with Marketing Team to analyze customer behavior and identify the optimal timing and messaging for engagement campaigns, supporting the Head of Lending Portfolio’s retention strategies. 

Performance Monitoring & Risk-Adjusted Growth  

• Track key growth metrics against risk indicators (delinquency, NPLs) to ensure strategies are driving profitable growth. 
• Monitor portfolio performance versus targets and proactively flag emerging risks or performance deterioration. 
• Conduct root cause analysis on performance dips to allow leadership to pivot strategies quickly. 

Reporting, Visualization & Stakeholder Communication  

• Translate complex analyses into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders and cross functional partners.
• Define and communicate executive level reporting and dashboard requirements to the Analytics Team to enable data driven decision making. 
• Act as a trusted lending portfolio partner to the analytics, product, and marketing teams.
• Perform other related duties and operational tasks as assigned by the immediate superior or/and the management to support business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field. 
• 3 to 5 years of experience in portfolio management, analytics, or strategy within lending, fintech, banking, or financial services. 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret large, complex datasets. 
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and building executive level dashboards and visualizations. 
• Proficiency in SQL and/or other data querying tools for data extraction and analysis. 
• Solid understanding of credit risk metrics and lending portfolio performance indicators. 
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to the stakeholders. 
• Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a data driven, fast paced environment.
