Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective management of accounting processes. This role supervises accounting staff, manages financial records, and supports strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations (general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll)
- Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Collaborate with management on financial decision-making
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies
Job Specification
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Master’s degree (preferred but not always required)
Professional Certifications:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) – highly preferred
- Other certifications (e.g., CMA, ACCA) are an advantage
Experience:
- 5–8 years of accounting experience
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
Advanced Excel skills
Financial reporting and analysis
Soft Skills:
Leadership and team management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Other Requirements:
High level of integrity and professionalism
