A Food Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service in dining establishments by assisting guests with food and beverage orders, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable and efficient. They play a key role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and a positive atmosphere in the dining area.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
- Assist customers in selecting menu items and answer questions about ingredients or special requests.
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
Order Handling:
- Take accurate food and drink orders using order slips or a point-of-sale system.
- Relay orders to the kitchen or bar staff.
- Ensure timely and correct delivery of orders to customers.
Cleanliness and Hygiene:
- Set up and clean tables before and after guests leave.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas.
- Ensure utensils, dishes, and serving equipment are sanitized and ready for use.
Payments and Records:
- Process customer payments, provide receipts, and handle cash or card transactions responsibly.
- Keep track of sales and report discrepancies to management.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Formal training in food service or hospitality is an advantage but not always required.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (certification is a plus).
Experience:
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service (preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions).
- Familiarity with handling Point of Sale (POS) systems is a bonus.
Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when taking orders.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
