A. Jewelry Appraisal and Valuation

• Evaluate gold jewelry and other precious jewelry items based on authenticity, purity, karat, weight, condition, design, and applicable market value.

• Conduct jewelry testing using approved tools and equipment, such as electronic gold testers, acid testing kits, and precision weighing scales.

• Determine the estimated value of jewelry using approved pricing matrices, prevailing gold prices, and company valuation guidelines.

• Recommend appropriate appraisal values, pawn loan amounts, purchase prices, and selling prices based on company policies.

• Identify jewelry items with possible counterfeit materials, altered markings, unusual compositions, or other indicators of fraud.

• Refer high-value, questionable, or technically complex jewelry items for further assessment or approval.

B. Sales and Transaction Support

• Provide accurate jewelry valuations to support pawn transactions, jewelry purchases, and resale activities.

• Coordinate with branch personnel to ensure proper pricing and consistent application of valuation standards.

• Assist in identifying jewelry items suitable for resale and recommend pricing based on marketability and potential profitability.

• Explain valuation results and pricing considerations clearly to authorized personnel and customers, as applicable.

• Support sales targets by providing timely and commercially sound valuation recommendations.

C. Market Research and Price Monitoring

• Monitor current gold market prices and relevant jewelry market trends.

• Review and apply updated company valuation rates and pricing guidelines.

• Recommend adjustments to valuation matrices when market conditions change, subject to management approval.

• Conduct price comparisons and market research to support competitive and profitable jewelry transactions.

D. Quality Control and Risk Management

• Verify the accuracy of jewelry weight, purity, item descriptions, and valuation computations.

• Ensure that jewelry testing and appraisal procedures follow company standards.

• Identify discrepancies between declared item details and actual test results.

• Report suspected fraud, counterfeit jewelry, valuation irregularities, and suspicious transactions to the appropriate supervisor.

• Maintain the confidentiality and security of customer information, jewelry items, and transaction records.

E. Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate appraisal reports, valuation sheets, and supporting documentation.

• Record jewelry specifications, including item type, karat, weight, test results, and recommended valuation.

• Assist in maintaining updated valuation databases and reference pricing records.

• Prepare periodic reports on appraisal volume, valuation accuracy, pricing discrepancies, and other assigned performance indicators.

• Ensure that all appraisal and transaction documentation is complete, traceable, and properly endorsed.

F. Compliance and Continuous Improvement

• Follow company policies, approval limits, internal controls, and applicable pawnshop regulations.

• Observe established procedures for handling, testing, transferring, and safeguarding jewelry.

• Participate in training programs on jewelry appraisal, fraud detection, market pricing, and valuation technology.

• Recommend improvements to valuation procedures, testing methods, and pricing controls.

Educational Requirements

• Graduate of any four-year course, preferably Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; relevant jewelry appraisal training or certification is an advantage.

• Candidates with substantial hands-on experience in jewelry valuation may be considered.

Experience

• At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in jewelry appraisal, gold valuation, pawnshop operations, jewelry retail, or precious metals trading.

• Experience in determining gold purity, karat, weight, and market value is preferred.

• Familiarity with pawn loan valuation and jewelry resale pricing is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of gold purity, karat classification, and precious metal identification.

• Ability to use jewelry testing equipment and precision weighing scales.

• Competence in calculating gold value, appraisal values, and pricing recommendations.

• Familiarity with current gold market pricing and jewelry valuation methods.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transaction documentation systems.
