AU Intermediate Accountant

Bring confidence to every account. We’re looking for an AU Accountant who can deliver accurate, compliant, and timely accounting outcomes for Australian clients. If you know how to keep books clean, reports reliable, and client work moving smoothly, this role is built for you.

Work Setup: Hybrid 1x a week onsite (to be revisited upon regularisation)

Role Overview

As our AU Accountant, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert in Australian bookkeeping and accounting, supporting either a dedicated client or multiple clients within a shared service environment. You’ll manage end-to-end accounting processes, support client transitions, and complete advanced accounting tasks with accuracy, ownership, and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Accounting Cycle: Manage end-to-end Australian bookkeeping and accounting processes, including AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, month-end activities, and financial reporting.

• Keep Reporting Accurate: Prepare financial statements and ensure outputs meet client reporting and compliance requirements.

• Reconcile with Precision: Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations while maintaining complete, accurate, and audit-ready records.

• Clean Up the Details: Handle client account clean-ups, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues with practical, timely solutions.

• Keep Clients Moving: Monitor client communications, respond to requests promptly, and escalate risks or issues when needed.

• Support Smooth Transitions: Assist with client onboarding, transitions, setup, and reporting so work starts strong and stays organised.

• Improve the Way We Work: Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes, workflows, and service delivery.

• Stay Accountable: Complete time tracking and required administrative tasks accurately and on time.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in Australian accounting or bookkeeping.

• Strong knowledge of end-to-end accounting processes and Australian compliance requirements.

• Experience using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office tools.

• High attention to detail, with strong accuracy and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
