AU Accountant

Keep the books clean, compliant, and client-ready. We’re looking for a detail-focused Accountant who can support bookkeeping, client payments, BAS compliance, and Australian payroll for clients in the music industry. Role Overview

As the Accountant, you’ll support bookkeeping, Australian payroll, BAS preparation, and payments for music industry clients, helping keep finance operations accurate, organised, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Support BAS Compliance: Review GST coding, check profit and loss and balance sheet entries, reconcile activity statement data, and prepare accurate reports to support BAS lodgement and client compliance.

• Process Australian Payroll: Prepare and process regular pay runs, calculate ordinary hours, overtime, allowances, deductions, leave entitlements, and final pays in line with Australian payroll requirements.

• Manage STP, PAYG and Superannuation: Support Single Touch Payroll reporting, PAYG withholding checks, superannuation calculations, and payroll data accuracy so employer obligations are reported clearly and on time.

• Maintain Payroll Records: Keep employee details, timesheets, payslips, leave balances, payroll journals, and supporting documents organised for audit readiness and smooth financial reporting.

• Manage Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable: Complete bank, credit card, and cash float reconciliations; record debtor entries; review Receipt Bank accounts payable invoices in Xero; complete aged payable reviews; and prepare account summary reports for music industry clients.

• Support Music Industry Operations: Assist with finance administration for artists, labels, events, touring activity, and creative teams by keeping supplier payments, payroll records, and month-end support accurate and easy to follow.

• Prepare Client Payments: Create batch payments and collate, review, and organise supporting documents so supplier, contractor, and client payments are accurate and ready for approval.
