Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of a team of accounting analysts, ensuring timely and accurate execution of key financial tasks such as bookkeeping, reconciliations, and compliance reporting. This role reports to the Assistant Accounting Manager and plays a critical part in maintaining strong internal controls and efficient workflows within the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of accounting staff in handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and general ledger functions.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and schedules required for internal and external stakeholders.
• Help enforce accounting policies and procedures, and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements for better accuracy and timeliness.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff to build technical capabilities and promote accountability.
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing necessary schedules and responding to audit inquiries.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or senior accounting role in a local Philippine Firm.
• Solid understanding of Philippine accounting standards, BIR compliance, and payroll regulations.
• Experience in using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; ERP knowledge is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
