Pharmacy Assistant

Medication Dispensing:
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- Label medications accurately and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide patients with instructions on the safe use of medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of medications and pharmacy supplies.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct regular stock checks and help with inventory management.
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers with medication inquiries.
- Handle customer requests for prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
- Provide basic advice on non-prescription medication under the guidance of a pharmacist.
Prescription Processing:
- Verify prescription details and ensure the accuracy of the prescription.
- Assist in the processing of prescription refills.
- Prepare prescription documentation for insurance claims and customer records.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and documentation related to the pharmacy operations.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phone calls, filing, and organizing paperwork.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, as well as pharmacy laws and policies.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Support the pharmacist in managing controlled substances and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy assistant certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication practices.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using pharmacy software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
