Kitchen Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist in preparing food items according to recipes, including chopping vegetables, prepping meats, and assembling ingredients. Maintain proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety.
- Cooking: Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking appliances to prepare menu items to specification.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, work surfaces, and floors. Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Dishwashing: Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware.
- Stock Management: Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure efficient workflow.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef, such as assisting with food preparation for catering events or special orders.
- Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [Weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
- Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain one (depending on local regulations).
