Senior Bookkeeper

This is a senior-level bookkeeping position responsible for managing day-to-day financial records, maintaining accurate accounting data, and supporting the overall financial operations of a business. This is not an entry-level role.

The role works closely with business owners, finance leaders, accountants, and operational teams to ensure financial information is accurate, organized, and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance

• Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner

• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports

• Monitor cash flow, outstanding balances, and account discrepancies

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking activities

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

• Coordinate with accountants, tax professionals, and internal stakeholders as needed

• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements

• Identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues proactively

• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Expectations

• Minimum 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience

• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms

• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger activities

• Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports with a high level of accuracy

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining organized financial records

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment

Schedule: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central time
