Accounting Officer - AP

Job Summary: 

The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. This role supervises AP staff, enforces compliance with company policies, and works closely with vendors, internal departments, and management to maintain strong financial controls and support smooth operations. 

Functional Duties & Responsibilities: 

AP Operations Management 

• Supervise daily AP operations including invoice verification, posting, and payment runs. 
• Ensure compliance with payment terms, tax regulations, and internal control procedures. 
• Review and approve payment batches, expense reimbursements, and supplier reconciliations. 
• Oversee proper documentation and filing of all AP records for audit purposes. 

Team Leadership & Supervision 

• Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor the performance of AP staff. 
• Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members. 
• Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. 

Vendor & Stakeholder Relations 

• Resolve vendor inquiries, discrepancies, and disputes in a timely manner. 
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 
• Coordinate with procurement, treasury, and other departments for smooth payment processing . 

Reporting & Compliance  

• Prepare AP-related reports for management, including aging analysis and cash flow forecasts. 
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities. 
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal policies, and external audit requests. 

Process Improvement  

• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements. 
• Implement   best practices to strengthen AP controls and reduce errors.
