A Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within a home, hotel, or other establishment. They ensure a tidy, safe, and sanitary environment by performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize rooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels as needed.
- Dust furniture, surfaces, and fixtures.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop floors, and clean carpets.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
- Restock supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning products.
- Launder clothes, linens, and other washable items (as needed).
- Report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including handling cleaning chemicals safely.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
Proven experience as a housekeeper, cleaner, or in a similar role.
Familiarity with cleaning procedures, tools, and equipment.
Skills:
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot dirt, dust, and clutter in need of cleaning.
Time Management: Efficiency in completing tasks within a given timeframe.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a clean and orderly space.
Communication Skills: Clear understanding of instructions and ability to report issues.
Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge:
Understanding of health and safety regulations.
Familiarity with cleaning products and proper usage, including handling of potentially hazardous chemicals.
Personal Qualities:
Trustworthiness and reliability.
High level of professionalism and discretion.
Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to specific client needs.
