- A housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a home or facility. Their duties include:
- Cleaning Tasks: Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing floors. Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and common areas.
- Laundry: Washing, folding, ironing clothes, and changing bed linens.
- Organizing: Ensuring items are neatly arranged, including organizing closets, cabinets, and storage spaces.
- Maintaining Supplies: Restocking cleaning products, toiletries, and other household essentials.
- Additional Duties: May include running errands, cooking, or assisting with pet care depending on the employer's needs.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred, but not always required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on cleanliness, organization, and ensuring all areas are thoroughly cleaned.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to complete duties within scheduled hours.
- Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions, as well as communicate with employers or other staff.
- Reliability and Trustworthiness: Dependability and discretion, especially when working in private homes or sensitive environments.
- Knowledge of Cleaning Products and Techniques: Familiarity with various cleaning agents, tools, and techniques to efficiently clean different surfaces.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing schedules or additional duties as needed.
