- A housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall upkeep of a home or facility. They ensure that the environment is safe, hygienic, and comfortable for residents or guests.
- Cleaning: Perform general cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and washing windows.
- Laundry: Wash, dry, fold, and iron clothes and linens as needed.
- Bed Making: Make beds and change linens regularly.
- Sanitizing: Disinfect common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and frequently touched surfaces.
- Organizing: Maintain an organized and tidy environment, ensuring belongings are properly stored.
- Restocking Supplies: Monitor and restock household supplies (e.g., toiletries, cleaning products, etc.).
- Trash Disposal: Empty trash bins and ensure garbage is disposed of properly.
- Special Requests: Attend to any specific requests or instructions from the employer (e.g., deep cleaning, seasonal tasks).
- Pet Care (if applicable): Assist with feeding and cleaning up after pets.
- Maintenance Reports: Report any needed repairs or maintenance issues in the home.

- Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or a similar role is often preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot dirt, clutter, or maintenance issues that need attention.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently within the set time.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills for interacting with employers and team members.
- Reliability: Dependability in showing up for scheduled shifts and completing duties.
- Knowledge of Cleaning Products: Familiarity with using cleaning products safely and effectively.
- Background Check: A clean criminal background check may be required for security purposes, especially in private households.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adjust tasks and hours based on employer needs.
- Additional Requirements: Some positions may require specific certifications (e.g., in sanitization) or the ability to operate cleaning machinery.
