Job Description
Get to Know the Team
Grab Financial Group (GFG) Philippines sits at the intersection of financial services, technology, and public impact. The team leads payments, lending, insurance, and new financial products for one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic markets. We work across the full stack: from regulatory engagement with BSP and SEC to on-the-ground product delivery for drivers, merchants, and consumers. This is a team that holds both ambition and accountability in equal measure, and the work we do has real impact for real people.
We are in a high-growth phase, expanding our footprint through strategic projects and partnerships. You will join a team that is not only managing a core business but actively architecting the future of our financial services ecosystem to deliver greater value to our consumers, drivers, and merchants.
Get to Know the Role
The Director, GFG Philippines leads the full spectrum of financial services in the country. These services include payments, lending, insurance, strategy, and partnerships.
The right candidate is an established financial services leader in the Philippines. This leader has the credibility to operate at the highest levels of government and regulatory engagement. This includes BSP, SEC, the Insurance Commission, and relevant legislative bodies. They bring experience building consequential partnerships with local institutions, international banks, and technology companies, and are comfortable representing Grab in public forums and policy discussions.
This is an operator role as much as a strategic one. The Director, GFG PH is accountable for business targets, budget performance, and full P&L across all financial services verticals. Additionally, the Director will move fluidly between long-horizon strategy and the demands of day-to-day execution.
This role is central to our growth strategy. You will be the transformation leader to maintain business momentum while navigating complex regulatory and operations transitions to leapfrog the business.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Lead organized change management efforts to improve cross-functional structures, ensuring resilience and operational continuity during periods of growth.
- Partner with regional leadership to harmonize new product capabilities, ensuring we maintain a seamless, high-value experience for our drivers, merchants, and consumers.
- Lead an executive team across Payments, Lending, Insurance, Strategy, Partnerships, and Operations in the Philippines; as a coach, mentor, sounding board, and connector.
- Promote a culture of disciplined execution and continuous innovation across the organization with clear accountability for outcomes at every level.
- Champion Grab's mission and values within GFG PH, and translate the commitment to financial inclusion and resilience into measurable outcomes for drivers, merchants, and consumers. Serve as the voice on the PH market for GFG Regional leadership, providing clear insight on regulatory and economic conditions that shape execution priorities.
- Own key relationships with major financial institutions, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and strategic corporate partners, with particular depth at BSP, SEC, and the Insurance Commission.
- Work closely with Regional Vertical heads to bring hyper-local products and solutions to the market.
- Cultivate relationships with Regional Product, Engineering, Business and Strategy
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, with five years in senior executive role.
- Experience in leading large-scale organizational change management or complex platform transformations within financial services.
- Expertise in one or more financial services products, including digital payments, consumer lending, insurance, or FinTech product development.
- Experience managing and extracting value from multi-layered business structures, with a focus on optimizing operations, P&L, and cross-functional/business synergies.
- Deep experience in navigating regulatory landscapes during high-growth, high-stakes periods, with experience balancing commercial aggression with stringent compliance standards.
- Advanced degree from a reputable institution is an asset but not a prerequisite.
- Strategic vision paired with operational discipline; able to set direction and then hold the organization accountable for delivery.
