We are looking for an experienced Specialty Coffee Barista who prepares and serves hot and cold drinks like coffee, espresso, and tea with strong technical skills, excellent sensory awareness, and a genuine understanding of specialty coffee.
Qualifications:
- Must have hands-on experience with specialty coffee.
- Must be skilled in both pour-over preparation and specialty coffee calibration.
- Must confidently dial in and calibrate espresso and adjust grinder settings based on extraction.
- Strong sensory skills and able to identify flavour notes, balance, acidity, body, sweetness, and extraction quality through tasting.
- Knowledgeable in espresso extraction, grinder calibration, coffee preparation, and brewing methods .
- Skilled in latte art and proper milk steaming .
- Must understand different coffee origins, processing methods, varietals, and roast profiles and how these affect the cup.
- Consistent, detail-oriented, and highly quality-focused.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willing to undergo technical and specialty coffee training.
- Willing to travel for training, events, or branch assignments.
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
IMPORTANT: This position requires actual specialty coffee technical experience. Applicants whose experience is limited to commercial coffee chains such as Pick Up Coffee, Starbucks, Bo’s Coffee, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, or similar commercial coffee establishments will not be considered unless they can demonstrate genuine specialty coffee skills, particularly pour-over and coffee calibration.
