Accountant - (Mid Level / Knowledgeable with Australia) 5 Days Onsite

We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Junior Accountant (Mid-Level) to join our growing offshore financial management team. In this role, you will work directly with our Australian client partners and internal finance management to handle end-to-end bookkeeping, client invoicing, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and preliminary financial reporting under Australian business standards.

The ideal candidate possesses strong numerical acumen, working knowledge of Australian accounting principles (GST, BAS exposure, or Australian chart of accounts), and excellent business English communication skills.

• Maintain accurately updated general ledgers, journal entries, and accounts in cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks).

• Process daily bank reconciliations, credit card statements, and transactional allocations.

• Prepare and process Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), ensuring timely payments, invoice generation, and debtor tracking.

• Assist with month-end financial closing, accruals, prepayments, and trial balance reconciliation under Australian accounting conventions.

• Compile preliminary documentation and summary workpapers for Business Activity Statements (BAS), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and Payroll Tax calculations.

• Monitor offshore client billing, time-tracking records, and employee expense claims.

• Draft monthly financial summaries, cash flow reports, and balance sheet reconciliations for management review.

• Assist in payroll processing support, verification of hours worked, and statutory contribution recordkeeping.

• Maintain structured document archives, audit trails, and financial filing systems in compliance with internal and Australian standards.

• Maintain clear, professional communication via email, Microsoft Teams, and video calls with Australian practice managers and onshore accounting teams.

• Collaborate with internal HR and operational leads to ensure aligned billing, payroll inputs, and reporting schedules.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, or equivalent field. CPA license or progress toward CPA/ACCA qualification is a strong advantage.

• Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years of solid accounting or general bookkeeping experience. At least 1–2 years of experience handling Australian clients or offshore AU accounting processes is highly preferred.

• Software Skills: Proficiency in Xero , MYOB , or QuickBooks Online . Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial formulas).

• Domain Knowledge: Solid grasp of Australian GST/BAS principles, payroll processing, chart of accounts, and bank reconciliation practices.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (strictly adhering to Australian business standards and professional etiquette).

• Workplace Aptitude: High attention to detail, proactive problem-solving ability, integrity, and capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
