Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Accountant I to support revenue accounting and audit functions in their Global Business Services team. The role involves monthly close activities, revenue recognition compliance, and audit documentation to advance the organization's financial reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly close activities including journal entries, deferrals, and reconciliations
- Ensure revenue recognition compliance with US GAAP policies and ASC 606 standards
- Provide audit documentation to facilitate internal and external audit processes
- Identify and recommend operational improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy, finance, or business
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with revenue recognition (preferred but not required)
- Organized approach to audit documentation and quality delivery
- Personal accountability and proactive problem-solving mindset
