A Retail Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining the store's appearance, and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. They play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience and supporting the overall success of the store.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products.
- Provide information on products, promotions, and services.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.
Sales
- Promote and upsell products to meet sales targets.
- Process customer transactions using the POS system.
- Assist with promotions, events, and in-store campaigns.
Store Maintenance
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Ensure shelves are replenished and displays are attractive.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory control.
Teamwork
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the store runs efficiently.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions.
- Support other areas of the store as needed.
Security and Safety
- Adhere to store policies, including loss prevention measures.
- Monitor customer activity to prevent theft.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (essential).
- Additional certifications in customer service or sales (preferred).
Experience
- Prior experience in retail, sales, or customer service (preferred but not always required).
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash (advantageous).
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service and resolve complaints effectively.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for handling transactions and inventory.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move stock, typically up to 10-20 kg.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
