Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Engineering Specialist with hands-on expertise in the Databricks Unified Data Analytics Platform to develop and maintain modern data solutions. The role focuses on data integration, distributed processing, pipeline optimization, data modeling, and governance.

The successful candidate will help ensure that data is collected, processed, transformed, and deployed efficiently across systems. This position requires strong technical problem-solving skills, an understanding of data architecture, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions using Databricks.

• Develop data pipelines that support data ingestion, transformation, processing, and delivery.

• Use Apache Spark and distributed computing technologies to process large datasets efficiently.

• Implement ETL/ELT workflows to convert raw data into trusted, structured datasets for reporting and analytics.

• Develop and maintain batch-processing and streaming data workflows based on business and technical requirements.

• Design data models using dimensional modeling principles, including Snowflake schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables.

• Optimize SQL queries, data transformations, and pipeline execution to improve performance and reduce processing overhead.

• Configure and manage data access permissions and governance controls using Unity Catalog.

• Monitor pipeline health, investigate processing failures, and implement corrective and preventive measures.

• Maintain data quality through validation, reconciliation, and consistency checks.

• Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.

• Support data migration and deployment activities across different systems and environments.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, data models, integrations, and operational workflows.

• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Evaluate new tools and practices that can enhance data processing, governance, scalability, and reliability.

• Take ownership of assigned deliverables and resolve technical challenges independently.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience with the Databricks Unified Data Analytics Platform.

• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, data pipeline architecture, and data integration.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing.

• Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation workflows.

• Proficiency in SQL and query performance optimization.

• Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional data modeling.

• Knowledge of Unity Catalog, including data access permissions and governance.

• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms.

• Familiarity with batch processing, streaming workflows, and data deployment practices.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience optimizing large-scale data processing workflows.

• Familiarity with data quality frameworks, monitoring, and pipeline reliability practices.

• Understanding of secure data access and governance principles.

• Experience documenting data solutions and supporting production data workflows.
