- A Food Stall Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining the cleanliness of a food stall or kiosk. The specific duties may vary depending on the type of food stall, but typical responsibilities include:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers and take their food and drink orders.
- Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner.
- Ensure customers are satisfied with their meals and experience.
- Food Preparation:
- Assist in preparing and assembling food items based on customer orders.
- Ensure food is prepared according to safety standards and recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while preparing food.
- Cash Handling:
- Operate cash registers or POS systems to process payments.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and provide correct change.
- Keep records of sales transactions and assist in stocktaking if necessary.
- Sanitation and Hygiene:
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following hygiene practices and local regulations.
- Regularly clean utensils, equipment, counters, and seating areas.
- Ensure that all food safety protocols are followed, including food storage and temperature control.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor food supplies and inform the manager when stock is low.
- Help with restocking and managing supplies as needed.
- Customer Service: Friendly, approachable, and able to handle customer inquiries and complaints.
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain the menu and take accurate orders.
- Multitasking: Capable of managing multiple tasks, especially in high-demand situations.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures food is prepared and presented according to standards.
- Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not always required.
- Basic food safety knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
