Retail Assistant

Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers as they enter the store. Answer questions about products, services, store policies, and promotions.
- Help customers find specific items, offer product recommendations, and provide general shopping assistance.
Sales Support:
- Process customer transactions at the point of sale (POS) system, handle payments (cash, card, etc.), and issue receipts.
- Encourage customers to sign up for store loyalty programs, promotions, or credit card offers.
Stocking and Merchandising:
- Restock shelves, display products, and maintain proper inventory levels. Ensure that all items are properly labeled with price tags and barcodes.
- Organize product displays to make them visually appealing and aligned with store standards.
Store Cleanliness and Organization:
- Keep the store tidy by cleaning shelves, aisles, and the checkout area. Ensure that products are well-organized and easy to access.
- Help maintain the store’s overall presentation, including dusting, folding clothes, or arranging product displays.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Experience: Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not mandatory. On-the-job training is usually provided.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and provide a positive shopping experience.
- Sales Skills: Ability to suggest and promote products or services to customers, meeting sales goals and targets.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to ensure that products are displayed properly and shelves are stocked correctly.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift boxes, restock shelves, and assist with store maintenance tasks.
- Basic Math Skills: Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and process customer payments.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on store needs.
- Positive Attitude: Friendly, approachable demeanor and a willingness to help customers.
