Data Analyst / Business Metrics Analyst
Position Summary
The Data Analyst/Business Metrics Analyst is responsible for transforming operational datasets into actionable insights and dashboards, supporting leadership decision-making and performance monitoring. This role also serves as a technical backup for processing and encoding during manpower gaps.
Minimum Qualifications
- College Graduate required
- Computer-related degree required (IT/CS/IS/etc.)
- At least 5 years experience in data analysis, dashboard creation, and related analytics work
- Proven experience in Power BI (dashboard development, data modeling, and report automation)
Required Skills / Competencies
- Advanced Excel (Power Query preferred; pivots, advanced formulas)
- Strong analytical thinking and storytelling with data
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (data visualization, DAX, and report building)
- Experience with other dashboard tools (Tableau / Zoho Analytics / Looker Studio is a plus)
- Data cleaning concepts, reporting automation mindset, and documentation discipline
Key Responsibilities
A. Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyze cleaned operational datasets to identify trends, risks, outliers, and performance gaps.
- Produce recurring analytical reports (weekly/monthly/QBR-ready summaries) aligned with business needs.
- Create clear insights and recommended actions, not just charts.
B. Dashboard Development
- Build and maintain dashboards for performance tracking (Excel dashboards and/or BI tools as assigned).
- Ensure dashboards are consistent, refreshable, and aligned with controlled data sources.
- Implement filters and views (Region, Sales Office, project, time period, etc.) as required.
C. Data Integrity Support
- Work with Data Processors to improve data models, definitions, and validation rules.
- Document metric definitions, calculation logic, and dashboard refresh steps.
D. Backup Coverage
- Backup Data Processors and Data Encoders as needed due to headcount loss or operational surges.
- Provide guidance to reduce downstream errors (template improvements, rule clarifications).
