Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 1-3 years of experience in analytics, insights, research, reporting, or BI roles within media, digital, subscription, e-commerce, or similarly data-rich environments
• Hands-on experience producing dashboards, reports, and analyses that support business decision-making
• Exposure to subscription or audience-driven businesses is an advantage but not required

Capabilities & Competencies

• Comfortable working with large datasets and able to structure questions, identify relevant data cuts, and spot patterns, trends, and anomalies
• Ability to translate numbers into simple charts, tables, and narratives that non-technical stakeholders can easily understand
• Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and data quality, with the ability to manage multiple requests and deliver within agreed timelines
• Strong curiosity for understanding why patterns occur and how they connect to product, editorial, and commercial decisions
• Exposure to SQL, BigQuery, or equivalent platforms for data extraction and joins, or strong willingness to quickly develop this capability
• Experience using BI and dashboard tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with web and app analytics platforms and digital performance metrics including sessions, pageviews, funnels, and retention

Responsibilities

Audience & Subscription Analysis

• Extract, prepare, and analyze audience reach, engagement, acquisition, retention, and churn data across brands and channels
• Support the development and maintenance of audience and subscriber segmentations based on lifecycle, value, engagement, and content needs
• Combine datasets from multiple sources including web and app analytics, subscriber systems, dashboards, and testing platforms to answer business questions

Reporting & Dashboards

• Build and maintain recurring reports and self-serve dashboards for editorial, product, growth, and retention teams
• Ensure dashboards remain accurate, consistent, and easy to interpret with clear commentary and definitions
• Monitor key KPIs including DAUs, conversion, churn, trial performance, and engagement while identifying risks and growth opportunities

Insight & Storytelling

• Translate analyses into visual summaries, reports, and presentations that explain outcomes, drivers, and recommended actions
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly brand and portfolio performance updates
• Prepare presentation materials for stakeholder meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions

Experimentation Support

• Support the setup, tracking, and analysis of experiments related to paywalls, offers, messaging, content treatments, and channels
• Ensure test results are accurately captured, quality checked, and documented with actionable recommendations
• Help build a centralized library of learnings from tests, pilots, and experimentation initiatives

Ways of Working & Continuous Improvement

• Follow established governance, documentation, and data quality practices for reports, dashboards, and queries
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and analysis workflows
• Contribute ideas that improve processes, reporting definitions, and analytics tooling across the wider data community
