Fire Sprinkler Fabrication & Coordination Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fabrication & Coordination Engineer to support the design, fabrication planning, and coordination of fire sprinkler systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience creating shop drawings and fabrication plans , with the ability to coordinate sprinkler systems with other trades, including HVAC, structural, and building services.
Experience working with 3D laser scans / point cloud data is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed shop drawings for fire sprinkler systems
- Develop accurate fabrication drawings and plans
- Coordinate fire sprinkler layouts with other trades, including:
- HVAC
- Structural systems
- Electrical and other building services
- Review drawings and identify potential clashes or installation issues
- Make necessary adjustments to sprinkler layouts to ensure proper coordination
- Work from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Assist with fabrication and installation requirements
- Ensure drawings are accurate, detailed, and suitable for fabrication and field installation
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve design and coordination issues
- Work within established company standards, processes, and project deadlines
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler design, fabrication, and coordination
- Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and installation requirements
- Experience producing shop drawings and fabrication plans
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple trades
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
Required Software
AutoSPRINK – Essential / Must Have
Autodesk ReCap – Advantage
Experience working with 3D scans, point clouds, or 3D coordination is highly desirable.
Working Hours
Preferred: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
Alternative working hours may be considered for the right candidate, provided there is sufficient overlap with the team's operating hours.
