Building Maintenance Technician

Job description:

We are looking for:

1. A detail-oriented and experienced Building Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility of preserving the good condition and functionality of our premises.

2. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and capable of handling various tasks related to building maintenance and repair.

3. NC II Certificate Holder

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment and systems such as

painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs and identify any issues.

• Basic troubleshooting of faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
• Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
• Managing heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Planning and scheduling repairs.
• Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
• Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
• Performing quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems and conducting basic checking and troubleshooting to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Checking and responding to security and safety issues.
• Testing and recommending new maintenance products.
• Keeping documents of inspections and problems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from employees and tenants, addressing issues in a timely manner.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders and inventory of supplies.
• Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the premises by performing janitorial duties and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for company events and meetings.
• Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, tenants, and visitors.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications / Skill requirements:

• Construction skills such as electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing and welding
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
• Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
• Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment
• Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
• Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
• Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions
• Organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
