Hospital Maintenance Worker

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Ensure that all hospital equipment and machinery are functioning properly and conduct repairs or replacements when necessary.
- Respond to urgent repair requests and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the hospital's surroundings, including public spaces, patient rooms, and staff areas.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with hospital health and safety regulations, including infection control standards.
- Assist with preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC systems, generators, and other critical hospital infrastructure.
- Report and document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in accordance with hospital policies.
- Work closely with department heads to address facility-related issues and ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or facility manager.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification in building maintenance or related field preferred).
- with NC II or NC III certification
- Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot various types of maintenance issues.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with hospital staff and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for on-call duties or emergency repairs, as needed.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to hospital regulations.
