Business Development Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Competitor Analysis- Conduct regular market scanning and competitor benchmarking. (pricing, products/services, positioning, strategies)
- Prepare competitive intelligence reports and SWOT analyses for executive review.
- Monitor industry trends, threats, and emerging opportunities that may affect the company's market position.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, potential partnerships, and untapped markets.
- Prepare company profiles, proposals, and presentation materials for prospective clients/partners.
- Represent the company in initial business meetings, industry engagements, and networking activities, as directed by the CEO.
- Gather, consolidate, analyze, and interpret business, sales, and market data to support corporate strategic planning.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reports (KPIs, sales trends, market share, growth metrics) for executive use.
- Provide data-backed recommendations and forecasts to guide strategic decisions.
- Report findings, insights, and recommendations directly to the President and CEO on a regular basis.
- Support strategic planning sessions, board presentations, and executive decision-making.
- Translate high-level executive directives into actionable plans and monitor implementation.
- Coordinate with other departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) to align on corporate strategic initiatives without overlapping existing Business Development department functions.
JOB SPECIFICATION / QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field; Master's degree an advantage.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate planning, strategic research, market intelligence, or data analytics.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management/executives.
- Proficient in data analysis tools. (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- High level of discretion given direct exposure to confidential executive-level information.
