Structural Engineer (Onsite)

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to review, assess, and approve engineering drawings for patios, garages, sheds, and other cold-formed steel structures. This role focuses on structural compliance, load analysis, design customisation, and quality assurance while providing technical support to internal teams and ensuring projects meet Australian engineering standards.

• Review and approve engineering drawings for patios, garages, sheds, and other cold-formed steel structures.
• Conduct structural assessments, stress and load analysis, and ensure compliance with Australian building codes and standards.
• Customise framing designs to meet project-specific requirements while maintaining structural integrity and practicality.
• Manage a high volume of engineering reviews, ensuring timely and accurate project approvals.
• Collaborate with sales, design, and drafting teams to provide technical guidance and engineering support.
• Identify design risks, compliance issues, and construction concerns, recommending practical solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, quality control, and in-house engineering software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering (Structural), or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in structural design, engineering reviews, or engineering approvals for residential or light commercial projects.
• Strong experience with cold-formed steel structures, including patios, garages, sheds, or similar steel framing systems.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian building codes, structural compliance, stress analysis, and load calculations.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software and the ability to accurately review and approve engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage high-volume engineering reviews while maintaining accuracy, quality, and compliance; professional engineering registration is an advantage.
