R&D Specialist (Food and Beverage)

Role Description

Our client is looking for an R&D Specialist who is responsible for supporting the development, improvement, and technical validation of products and processes across the product development lifecycle. The role executes product formulation, prototyping, testing, documentation, and scale-up activities under the guidance of the R&D Manager. The position ensures that all product innovations and improvements are technically sound, cost-effective, compliant with regulatory requirements, and ready for commercial production. Innovation is key in the role.

Key Objectives

• Support development of new products and processes from concept to commercialization
• Ensure proper execution of product prototyping, testing, and scale-up activities
• Contribute to improvement of existing products and processes under the
  product lifecycle
• Ensure complete and accurate technical documentation of all R&D activities
• Provide technical support for production, QA, marketing, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain compliance with food safety, quality systems, and regulatory
  standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, Halal)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,
  Biology, or related field
  
• 2–4 years of experience in R&D, product development, or food manufacturing
  environment
• Knowledge of product formulation, testing methods, and scale-up processes
• Must have UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) experience/background
• Has experience in beverage, fruit juice product development
• Ideally has worked with yogurt
• Familiarity with HACCP, FDA requirements, and food safety systems is an advantage
• Experience in sensory evaluation, lab testing, and pilot production trials preferred
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Office and basic technical reporting tools
• Detail-oriented and able to work in cross-functional teams
