Heavy Equipment Mechanic

- Check equipment for damage, record hours used, and fuel levels
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining shop and equipment
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times
- Ensure that all equipment is tagged with any necessary descriptions of problems and in a visible area for inspection
- Testing equipment to make sure it works properly
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
- Operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance
- Routine inspection and maintenance include such tasks as checking tire pressure, changing engine oil, checking and replacing spark plugs, wires and distributor caps or ensuring the reliability of the vehicle's brakes. Troubleshooting and repairs may include diagnosing and fixing problems with any part of a vehicle
- Repairs that mechanics commonly make can include removing and replacing old or broken parts such as pistons and rods in the engine, rebuilding faulty assemblies such as steering systems, repairing or replacing brakes and repairing heating, cooling
- Replace Clutch Lining
- Replace Wheel Bearing
- Repacking Bearing
- Perform other task assigned from time to time
- Not required, but TESDA Certification (NCII) is essential
