A Heavy Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods and materials over various distances, using a tractor-trailer vehicle. This role requires adherence to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures, while also ensuring the secure transport of cargo.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating and driving tractor-trailer trucks.
- Transporting goods and materials over long distances.
- Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Planning routes using maps or GPS devices.
- Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of cargo.
- Maintaining a log of working hours.
- Reporting any mechanical problems or incidents to dispatch.
- Following safety procedures and protocols.
- Loading and unloading cargo.
- Communicating with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel.
- Reporting any accidents or violations.
- Working long and irregular hours.
Required:
- Valid Professional Driver’s License
- Restriction Code 8 or CE
- With experience driving heavy trucks
- Willing to work on-site
