A procurement officer is a professional responsible for acquiring goods and services for an organization in a cost-effective, ethical, and efficient way. They play a key role in supply chain and financial management.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Business Administration
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics
- Accounting or Finance
Experience
- 1–3+ years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (entry roles may accept fresh graduates)
- Experience in vendor sourcing, bidding, or contract management is an advantage
Knowledge
- Familiarity with procurement processes and documentation
- Understanding of laws like the Republic Act No. 9184 (for government roles)
- Knowledge of inventory systems and procurement software (e.g., ERP systems)
Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail and organization
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Ethical decision-making and integrity
Other Requirements (sometimes required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

- Job Responsibilities
1. Procurement Planning
- Analyze purchasing needs of departments
- Prepare procurement plans and schedules
2. Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation
- Identify potential suppliers and request quotations
- Evaluate vendors based on price, quality, and reliability
3. Bidding & Negotiation
- Conduct bidding processes (especially in government)
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms
4. Purchase Order Management
- Prepare and process purchase orders (POs)
- Track orders to ensure timely delivery
5. Cost Control
- Monitor budgets and ensure cost efficiency
- Look for ways to reduce procurement expenses
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all purchases follow company policies and legal requirements
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports
7. Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors
- Resolve issues like delays, shortages, or quality problems
Pay: Php22,000.00 - Php33,000.00 per month
